This was mostly highway mileage

Haha. haha. fuel economy cars.
Yeah that’s better than my average mpg.

That’s not that bad considering how slow they usually run. Constantly idling...

Still the best MPG a hearse has ever gotten.

This one wasn’t doing any slow running or idling, we were using it in a road rally. The best tank was literally 100% highway (filled up at gas station, got straight onto onramp, cruised until the tank was empty) and was 19.4 mpg

Now I’m curious about the new hearse. It’s a 6 cylinder and I’m pretty sure it’s lighter

On the road I’m sure it could top this but I doubt you are getting very good mileage with the work a Hearse does, even with the V6.

If it was a former hearse... Did you clean out what must be around a third of the weight of the car worth of carbon from ... everywhere?
Which reminds me: Hearses should all be electric with the amount of idling and low-speed driving they do for short distances. It seems like a business that could only grow with the aging of the largest generation in history.

They do a lot more distance driving than you might imagine. We have to do semi-regular trips to Boston (200 mile round trip) to pick up/drop off a body at the state medical examiner’s office, for example. Not to mention trips to New York (300 miles)/New Jersey (400)/other places that aren’t close but aren’t far enough for a plane to make sense for people who died there but are being buried here
